So my sister reckons I would do well as a make-up guru blogger, but Im not too sure of my skills there so Im going to mix and match this blog with drama/tv show reviews as well.
So, here is my first review...
I just watched the first episode of Misaki Number One!. Partly because it looked interesting but mostly because the two lead males are Fujigaya Taisuke and Kitayama Hiromitsu from Kis-My-Ft2 and I may possibly have a slight (read: huge) weakness for that particular group. Having Karina as lead helps as well.
All in all the first episode was a great opening to something that looks like a copy of Gokusen, with the teacher trading in her yakuza skillz for the ability to run in heels. I swear I was wincing in anticipation of Karina breaking an ankle. Unfortunately no matter how gorgeous she is in a mini-skirt, I just dont think she'll be able to pull off the same comic punch as Nakama Yukie.
The class, 2-Z, is your architypal bad student group, discarded by the school for not living up to their high standards and left to do as they please. The head teacher just waiting for them to do something she can legitimately expel them for.
I give it 3/5 for the moment. Its not particularly original, but the Gokusen series went down well enough and they've carried over the staff from there to this one. It all depends on the writing now... we'll just have to wait to see what happens next week.
